What RaetOS does and where to begin.

What is RaetOS?+

A career operating system for keeping work evidence, reviewing roles, preparing application materials, and tracking outcomes. Master Resume is the source record for the rest of the workflow.

Is this just a resume builder?+

No. Dashboard, My Queue, Decision Engine, Resume, Tracker, and Network support the career record and the search around resume generation.

Who can use it?+

Active applicants, employed professionals, career switchers, students, veterans, and federal applicants can record real experience and projects. A polished resume is not required.

What should I do first?+

Open Master Resume. Upload a PDF or DOCX resume, paste work accomplishments or project notes, or add a role manually. Review and build the record before analyzing roles.

Do I need the extension?+

No. My Queue has Add Job and Decision Engine accepts a pasted job description.

What is the workflow?+

Master Resume → My Queue → Decision Engine → saved packet → your Apply action → Tracker. You submit the application externally yourself.

Does RaetOS apply or contact employers for me?+

No. It prepares documents, message drafts, and reminders. You submit applications and send messages yourself.

Does capture or generation mean I applied?+

No. Both are preparation. The Apply action starts Tracker; it does not verify employer receipt.

Dashboard

Choose the view for what you are doing now.

Why does my dashboard look different?+

There are Active Search, Career Record, and Getting Started views. Your preference or Automatic mode determines which you see.

How does Automatic choose a view?+

It uses your current role and search activity within the last 30 days. A new record with no search history can stay in Getting Started even if a current role is present.

Can I choose a dashboard myself?+

Yes. Settings → Preferences → Dashboard Mode offers Automatic, Active Search, Career Record, and Getting Started.

What is Active Search for?+

Queue momentum, packets, applications, career-record readiness, and useful next actions during a search.

What is Career Record for?+

Maintaining wins, projects, skills, and readiness while employed. Your other personal-product pages remain available.

Why are my counts empty?+

A new account has little to summarize. Add work evidence in Master Resume and a posting in My Queue to begin. Empty counts are not a grade on your career.

Does changing dashboard mode delete anything?+

No. It changes the view, not your career record, packets, or applications.

Career Capture

Keep evidence fresh while employed.

Can I use RaetOS when I am not searching?+

Yes. Keep roles, accomplishments, projects, skills, and credentials current so your next application does not begin from memory.

What does the weekly capture card do?+

It asks What shipped, moved, or got fixed? Choose Save it to add your answer as a bullet on your current Master Resume role.

Why is the weekly card missing?+

It needs a current role and career mode. It is hidden in other modes or after Nothing this week; a saved answer is shown instead of a fresh question that week.

How much should I write?+

One concrete line is enough. The weekly card accepts up to 400 characters. Describe a real action, scope, or outcome.

What if nothing happened?+

Choose Nothing this week. There is no streak to maintain and no reason to invent an accomplishment.

Can I answer again in the same week?+

The card accepts one outcome per week. Add or edit other accomplishments directly in Master Resume.

How do I return to searching?+

Use I am looking again on the weekly card, or choose Active Search in Settings → Preferences.

Master Resume

Import, review, and strengthen your source record.

What is Master Resume?+

Your structured roles, bullets, projects, skills, education, and credentials. It supplies evidence for many outputs instead of being one finished document.

Which files can I upload?+

Career intake offers PDF and DOCX. Use text-based files; scanned images may not yield usable text. Paste text or enter experience manually if extraction fails.

Can I paste accomplishments or project notes?+

Yes. Paste relevant notes you want in your career record, then review what is extracted. You do not need to upload an entire document.

Does intake connect to my employer's systems?+

No. It uses text and files you provide, not automatic connections to workplace systems.

What is staged intake?+

Uploaded or pasted material is parsed into staged sources for review. Choose Build Master Resume for your first intake or Add to Master Resume for later sources.

What does Review & Commit Import mean?+

An import is pending. Open it, review the proposed data, and commit what you intend to add before relying on it for applications.

Can I edit or add a role manually?+

Yes. Use role editing and manual entry for titles, companies, dates, location, bullets, and other details. Correct AI-extracted content before using it.

What are evidence gaps and readiness indicators?+

Guidance about missing or thin details such as dates, scope, outcomes, or format-specific fields. They do not independently verify employment or achievements.

What if I do not know an accomplishment's metric?+

Do not invent one. Record true scope, tools, context, or outcomes you can support.

What does RaetAI do?+

It asks questions and proposes improvements. Use the role-specific panel for one role or the general panel for broader work, then review changes.

Why must I build Master Resume before analysis?+

Analysis requires saved work experience. A pasted source not yet built or committed may not supply it. Confirm roles appear in your record.

What extra details are available for federal roles?+

Hours per week, salary, supervisor details, and location. Add accurate details relevant to the posting; check agency instructions yourself.

Browser Extension

Connect and capture while browsing.

How do I install and connect it?+

Open Settings → Extension for the installation link. In the popup choose Connect to RaetOS and authorize your account.

Which browsers are supported?+

The Chrome extension is offered for Chrome and supported Chromium browsers such as Edge and Brave. Settings shows whether Safari installation is available or Coming Soon.

When should the floating panel appear?+

On a detected individual job posting. General listings, application forms, or unsupported layouts may not show it.

What does Send to My Queue do?+

Saves posting details to your account. It does not analyze, generate documents, or apply.

What if a posting is not detected?+

Try Capture Anyway in the popup and review the result in My Queue. You can also use Add Job manually.

Why am I asked to sign in or reload?+

Authorization may have expired or the page may need reloading after an extension update. Reconnect or reload as the panel requests.

Why does it say Already captured?+

The posting was recognized as already saved. Check My Queue before trying another capture.

What does Not interested do?+

Dismisses that posting locally. This is different from marking an existing Queue item Not pursuing.

What are Recent Captures and counters?+

Local capture history from this browser, not your complete account or application history.

Does Clear local history delete My Queue?+

No. It resets local extension history, counters, and dismissals. Account postings remain.

Does it work on every site or read my inbox?+

No. Detection varies by layout. It captures postings you choose, not inbox contents or automatic applications.

How do I revoke extension access?+

Settings → Security → Extension Access → Revoke. You can authorize again later.

My Queue

Curiosity before commitment.

What is My Queue?+

Captured postings waiting for review. Tracker is the application record after you choose to pursue.

Can I add a job manually?+

Yes. Choose Add Job and enter what you have. A useful description is needed for analysis; a title or URL alone may not be enough.

What filters exist?+

All, Captured, Analyzed, Applied, and Not pursuing, plus search and sorting. There is no separate Selected filter.

What does Analyze do?+

Compares the posting with Master Resume and saves analysis on that Queue item. Open Decision Engine for deeper review.

Why can I not analyze?+

Check that a job description and saved Master Resume work experience exist. Read the error and correct missing input before retrying.

What does Not pursuing mean?+

You decided not to move forward. Find these postings through the Not pursuing filter, not a separate Archive page.

Can I collect jobs and review later?+

Yes. Capture first and review in batches. Saved or analyzed counts are not applications.

What happens when I remove a posting with a packet?+

The confirmation distinguishes unapplied and applied packets. An unapplied packet and its documents are removed with the posting; applied documents and Tracker are kept. Read it before removing.

Why did Add Job select an existing item?+

The app recognized a duplicate instead of creating another copy. Search for that saved posting.

Decision Engine

Read the evidence before committing.

What does Decision Engine analyze?+

Role requirements, seniority, relevant evidence, gaps, and resume strategy against your Master Resume. It helps select evidence for a packet.

Can I paste a job description directly?+

Yes. You do not need an extension capture first. Add a job URL if available; it is not required to mark a saved packet applied.

What do verdicts and requirement matches mean?+

Guidance on how available evidence aligns with the posting. Review covered, partial, and missing requirements rather than trusting only a headline.

Are Match and ATS scores employer results?+

No. These are RaetOS guidance, not an employer's actual ATS score or hiring prediction. Match is 1–10 and ATS is 0–100.

What is Fix Before You Apply?+

Gaps or changes to consider before using the packet. Improve true evidence; do not invent qualifications.

Where does company or salary information come from?+

Company, Market Value, Career Signal, and Employee Sentiment use web intelligence. Review source links when supplied; generated summaries and benchmarks are not guarantees.

What if an intelligence card lacks sources or fails?+

Do not treat it as verified evidence. Focus on the posting and your own record, or retry later.

Can I choose roles and bullets myself?+

Yes. Review and adjust compiler selections before generating. Automatic selection does not replace your review.

Why does a relevance score have ~?+

It is a keyword-based estimate rather than a direct model score. Use it as a sorting aid, not proof.

Can I override the recommended format?+

Yes. Choose another supported format with the override. Its record requirements still matter.

Does high fit mean I am ready to compile?+

Not necessarily. Role fit and format readiness are different checks. Missing record details can still block a format.

Does leaving or generating send anything?+

No. Materials are preparation. You submit and send externally yourself.

Resume Types

Choose a format for the posting and your evidence.

What formats are supported?+

Chronological, Functional, Combination, Targeted, and Federal. The engine recommends one; you can override it.

When should I use Chronological?+

When your work timeline and recent relevant roles tell the clearest story.

When should I use Functional?+

When transferable skills and evidence need more emphasis than job ordering, such as a pivot. It still requires real evidence.

When should I use Combination?+

When skill themes and the work timeline both matter.

What is Targeted?+

Evidence selected and presented for one specific job description, not a universal resume.

Does Federal guarantee compliance?+

No. It supports additional work detail. Read the agency's required fields, page limits, and attachment instructions yourself.

Can I compare formats?+

Yes. Generate another packet with a different format and use clear version names.

Application Packets and Resume

Find and use saved materials.

What is an application packet?+

A role-specific package of job snapshot, analysis, resume, and supporting assets such as cover letter, interview prep, outreach email, and ATS text.

What does Generate Complete Packet build?+

The resume and supporting cover letter, interview prep, and outreach email. Assets can fail individually; inspect what was saved.

Where do I find saved packets?+

Open Resume. Search company, role, packet name, or format, and use the format filter.

Why did a packet move to another group?+

The shelf groups packets by whether they have a Tracker and whether that pursuit is active or closed.

How should I name versions?+

Use clear names such as Company Role v1 and keep distinct generated versions when comparing formats or evidence.

Where are supporting documents?+

Open the packet's asset tabs. Missing content offers Generate; existing supporting assets offer Regenerate.

What if an asset generation or save fails?+

Generate a missing asset separately. Copy useful generated content before leaving if saving failed; generated is not the same as saved.

What is ATS text?+

Plain-text compiled resume content for pasted application fields. Use Copy ATS Text or Build ATS text if absent.

Can I download documents?+

Resume offers Download PDF. Supporting tabs offer Copy and Download. Review every document before sending.

Does Master Resume editing refresh old packets?+

Do not assume it does. Saved packets preserve generated materials; return to Decision Engine and generate a new version to use updated evidence.

Can I delete an applied packet?+

Yes, after confirmation. Its documents are removed while Tracker stays, so you lose the saved materials associated with that application.

Does deleting a packet delete its Queue posting?+

Deleting from Resume keeps the posting so you can compile again. Removing a Queue posting can remove its unapplied packet; these are different actions.

Apply and Tracker

Record actions and actual outcomes.

When exactly does Tracker start?+

Open Job & Apply in Decision Engine or Apply & Track in Resume creates Tracker when clicked. Submit externally yourself; RaetOS does not verify submission. Manual Tracker entry is also available.

What if my packet has no URL?+

Use Mark Applied in Decision Engine and add a link in Tracker later.

Which stages does Tracker use?+

Applied, Interviewing, Offer, Rejected, and Closed. Update them when you learn the actual outcome.

What happened to Watchlist?+

Watching is now a flag usable at any stage, not a separate pipeline stage.

Where is Archive?+

There is no separate Archive page. Not pursuing is in My Queue, closed/rejected applications remain in Tracker, and their packets remain in Resume.

Can I hide or reopen closed applications?+

Use Show/Hide closed on Tracker. Reopen a closed record to Applied if the pursuit resumes.

What is next-action guidance based on?+

Recorded status, dates, and follow-ups. It suggests waiting, following up, preparing, or logging an outcome; it does not know employer intent.

Does dormant mean rejected?+

No. Dormant is time-based momentum guidance after a long period without recorded movement. Record actual activity or outcomes yourself.

How do I record a follow-up?+

After contacting the employer, use Tracker's follow-up action. It records activity and resets the clock. A Network draft alone does not count.

Will it ask me to chase forever?+

No. Current follow-up guidance caps chases at two. Keep the record current; the guidance does not require you to contact anyone.

How do I prepare for an interview?+

Record the interview date and stage, then review the linked packet's Interview Prep against your actual experience.

Where do linked contacts appear?+

Link them from Network. The expanded Tracker record shows the contacts alongside activity.

Will replies or rejections update automatically?+

No. RaetOS does not read inboxes. Log interviews, offers, rejections, and other outcomes yourself.

Network and Compose

Keep connections and draft messages you send.

What is Network?+

Connections with context and application links, grouped as Recruiter, Reference, Hiring Manager, or Other.

How do I add or edit a connection?+

Choose Add Connection and Save the details. Use search and board/list views, then open a card or row to edit.

Can a contact link to several applications?+

Yes. Use Linked Applications to link or unlink Tracker records. Links appear from both Network and Tracker.

What messages can Compose draft?+

Cold Introduction, Reconnect, LinkedIn Request, Referral Ask, Reference Request, Informational Interview, Application Follow-up, Post-Interview Thank You, and Status Check.

Must I save a contact first?+

No. Select a saved contact or enter a recipient name and type in Compose. Add optional context to make the draft specific.

Why is Generate disabled?+

Message type, recipient name, and contact type are required. Picking a saved contact fills recipient details.

What context is used?+

A selected contact's name, type, title, company, and notes, plus your optional context and available sender name, phone, and LinkedIn details. Review the result.

Does Compose send or keep sent-message history?+

No. It returns an editable draft with Copy. Send it using your own email or messaging service; no inbox or sent-message history is maintained.

How is it different from packet outreach?+

Packet outreach is generated for one role. Network Compose handles several relationship and follow-up situations with the context you provide.

Does linking a person change an application stage?+

No. Links describe relationships; stage changes belong in Tracker.

Notifications and Text Messages

Control prompts and delivery preferences.

Which reminders exist?+

Follow-up is due, Interview tomorrow, and Outcome not recorded in Settings → Notifications. They use recorded Tracker activity and dates.

How do I switch email reminders off?+

Use Send me reminders. Individual reminder-type switches let you disable a type without turning off the email channel.

Can I choose delivery time?+

Choose Morning, Midday, or Evening in your browser-detected local timezone. Scheduled reminders run on weekdays, not after 9pm; exact-minute delivery is not guaranteed.

Why did I not get a reminder?+

Check the master toggle, type switches, eligible Tracker dates/status, and spam folder. A reminder needs a due action and delivery window.

Who can receive texts?+

When SMS is available, text controls require a US mobile number, verification, and separate reminder consent. The screen distinguishes enabled consent from delivery live.

Does phone verification enable reminders?+

No. Verification, profile phone details, and optional reminder consent are separate.

Which reminders go by text?+

Only interview and follow-up reminders when text delivery is live. Outcome-not-recorded is not sent by text.

How do I stop texts?+

Turn optional reminders off in Notifications or reply STOP to a RaetOS text. STOP blocks texts to that number, including verification, until the messaging opt-out is resolved.

Will reminders contact employers or update Tracker?+

No. Take the action and record it yourself.

Does consent cost anything or affect signup?+

Carrier message/data rates may apply. Optional career reminder consent is not required to create an account.

Account and Settings

Manage sign-in and preferences.

How can I sign in?+

Email/password, Google, or Microsoft. Complete verification and any two-factor challenge shown.

Where can I read the Terms and Privacy Policy?+

Terms and Privacy are public resources, available without signing in. Signup includes an acceptance checkbox. Signing in does not add a separate Terms review step.

What if I do not accept the current Terms?+

You can read the Terms before creating an account. If you do not agree, do not complete signup. Existing users can export supported records or delete their account in Settings, subject to the existing confirmation and security checks.

What if I forgot my password?+

Use Forgot password on the sign-in page. For Google/Microsoft account recovery, follow that provider's process.

What if verification never arrives?+

Check the entered address/number, email spam folder, and resend option. Contact support@raetos.com if it persists; do not share passwords or codes.

Where are profile and preferences?+

Settings → Profile contains career/contact context. Preferences includes theme, default format, dashboard mode, and Tracker defaults.

Does my default format override everything?+

No. Decision Engine can recommend differently for a posting, and you can choose another format.

How do I set up MFA?+

Settings → Security → Two-Factor Authentication. Connect an authenticator, confirm its code, and save the recovery codes shown.

What if I lose my authenticator?+

Use a saved recovery code at sign-in. Each works once; support cannot show the originals. Contact support if both methods are lost.

Why is MFA not asking on this browser?+

A trusted device can skip the prompt for 30 days. Forget trusted devices in Security to require a challenge at their next sign-in.

Can I sign out other sessions?+

Yes. Settings → Security → Sign Out Other Sessions. Extension access can be revoked separately.

Does social sign-in grant inbox access?+

No. Google and Microsoft are identity-only sign-in, not Gmail or Outlook mailbox connections.

Privacy and Data Controls

Take, clear, or delete your records.

Does RaetOS sell user data?+

The Privacy Policy states it does not. Read Privacy for current collection, use, sharing, and retention disclosures.

What does AI process?+

Depending on the action: career evidence, job description, packet context, or contact/compose context. Share only permitted material and review outputs.

Is AI provider training or retention guaranteed off?+

Do not assume a blanket no-training or zero-retention promise. Read Privacy and Security; provider handling depends on active terms/configuration. Identity-only sign-in is a separate issue.

How do I export?+

Settings → Data & Privacy → Export Data downloads a ZIP with your Master Resume as text, your Tracker, Network and saved roles as spreadsheets (CSV), your resumes and packets as text files, and one complete JSON file. It is not a restore or import backup.

What is in the export?+

Your profile, Master Resume (roles, bullets, projects, skills), resumes, packets, generated documents, Tracker, Network contacts, and saved roles. Job posting text is left out because the company wrote it; the link and your own record of each role are kept. Passwords, login tokens and half-finished resume imports are not included.

How do I export a finished resume?+

Use Download PDF in the packet. Use supporting tabs for Copy/Download. The account export ZIP contains readable records and JSON; it is separate from the finished resume PDF.

What does Clear Queue delete?+

After CLEAR confirmation, Queue postings not marked applied and not linked to a packet. It clears working postings, not the account.

What does Clear Packets delete?+

After CLEAR confirmation, packets without a Tracker link. It is separate from deleting one packet and does not delete your account.

Can I delete my account now?+

Yes. Settings → Data & Privacy requires your account email and DELETE confirmation. Export what you need first and read Privacy for retention exceptions.

Does deletion erase every retained record immediately?+

Do not assume it. Privacy covers audit, security, backup, legal, and other retention exceptions. Ask privacy@raetos.com about your request or a separate institutional engagement record.

What should I avoid storing?+

Passwords, employer secrets, private customer data or source code, regulated material, and anything you are not allowed to reuse.

Where do I ask about privacy or security?+

privacy@raetos.com for access, correction, export, or deletion; security@raetos.com for security concerns. Never share authenticator or recovery codes.

Resources and Support

Find instructions and get help.

Can I read resources without signing in?+

Guide, FAQ, Contact, Privacy, Terms, Cookies, and Security and Trust are public and also linked from Settings → Resources. Support tickets require sign-in.

Why does the header change when signed in?+

It shows Resources and Back to App instead of Sign In/Get Started so you can return without signing in again.

Where are feature videos?+

User Guide has short videos for selected features, alongside written instructions. Not every feature has a video yet.

Should I use Support or Contact?+

Use signed-in Support for product/account tickets. Public Contact reaches RaetOS without sign-in: select the appropriate mailbox for general enquiries, partnerships, feedback, privacy, security, or account-access help.

Does Contact send my message?+

Yes. Complete the required fields, select a RaetOS mailbox, and pass the security check. Contact sends the message and shows confirmation. If sending fails, your entered text is kept so you can retry.

Does the support form submit a ticket?+

Yes. Use the support form to submit a ticket for a product or account problem. Include what happened, what you expected, and any relevant error message.

What should a bug report include?+

Page, expected result, actual result, browser/device, and exact error. Include a screenshot if useful, with private information removed and no credentials.

Who do I email?+

support@raetos.com for product help, privacy@raetos.com for privacy requests, security@raetos.com for security concerns.

What if analysis, generation, or download fails?+

Keep useful content if saving failed. Check missing inputs, reload and reopen the record, then retry. If persistent, report page, role/packet name, and error to Support.

Still Need Help?

Use Support for product or account help, or email the team directly.
